We are a close-knit group of 10+ local volunteers and a core management team who lead and carry out our work on the ground. From coral planting and monitoring to community outreach and education, our team is deeply connected to the environment we serve and the communities we are part of.
While our lines are firmly local, our reach is becoming global.
Te Ara o te Ākau is supported by a network of advisors based around the world, who contribute scientific knowledge, technical expertise, and strategic guidance. This blend of local leadership and international support strengthens our work while ensuring it remains grounded in Cook Islands values, culture, and priorities.
